The City of Port Angeles announces the results of the 2023 General Election, as certified on Tuesday by the Clallam County Auditor’s Office:

As part of the established procedures, Council Member Elect Drew Schwab (Position No. 2) will be formally sworn in today, November 29, 2023. Position No. 2 became vacant after former Council Member Mike French was elected in 2022 to serve as Clallam County Commissioner. In January 2023, Amy Miller was appointed by City Council to fill the vacant position until the results of the November 2023 General Election were certified. Schwab will serve the remainder of the position’s regular term, which is to December 31, 2025. 

Council Member Elect Amy Miller (Position No. 5) will begin her new term in January 2024, along with newly re-elected Council Members Navarra Carr (Position No. 6) and Brendan Meyer (Position No. 7). Miller, Carr and Meyer will be sworn in before the January 2, 2024, City Council meeting.

I look forward to working with Council Member Elect Drew Schwab and the re-elected incumbents,” says Mayor Kate Dexter.

Port Angeles City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month in the City Hall Council Chambers, located at 321 East 5th Street. Meetings also continue to be broadcast live via WebEx; members of the public may attend and participate either in person or virtually.
