[ARCHIVED] 05/31/22 WHAT HAPPENED THURSDAY NIGHT IN PORT ANGELES?

PAPD Police Blotter 2

On Thursday, May 26, 2022 at about 11:20 PM Officer Kyle Cooper was on patrol in downtown Port Angeles near First and Laurel when he observed two men fighting in the street. When Officer Cooper stopped he observed that one of the men had a deep gaping knife wound across his chest about 8 inches long. Corporal Jeff Ordona arrived as well. The other man involved in the fight was holding a knife, and he set it down. The knife was recovered by the Officers.
The Officers developed probable cause to arrest the man with the knife for Assault First Degree. The Officers arrested him and booked him into the jail. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance and treated. Further investigation revealed that the two men were cousins and they were arguing about who was going to drive the victim's truck. The case is being reviewed by the prosecutor's office for charges.
