Please welcome our newest Peninsula Communications (PenCom) 9-1-1 Dispatch Communications Officer, Kim Tinney.   Kim comes to PenCom from the private sector and is a resident of Port Angeles.  She has started the new Communications Officer training program. which takes 3 to 6 months.   The training process will involve work with experienced and certified trainers that will allow her to learn all the things necessary to provide service to our 17 user agencies and all the residents of Clallam County.
PenCom provides 9-1-1 and emergency dispatch services to all of Clallam County.  PenCom also answers the non emergency or business line for many user agencies after hours.    PenCom is a division of the Port Angeles Police Department.  Last year the PenCom staff handled 148,956 calls for service.  43,541 of these were 9-1-1 calls.   In 2020 the average call answering time was 6.38 seconds.  In 2021 this time was reduced to 4..32 seconds.
